Description	:	Wasp Sting Is Fatal to Marion Harris Marion C. Harris, 63, west Toledo farmer, died Sunday evening soon after being stung by a wasp. Dr. Charles W. Maplethorpe was called and gave him medication but Mr. Harris did not respond to the treatment. The body was removed to Cedar Rapids for an autopsy, and according to the Toledo physician, the report on the post mortem was that death was due to a reaction from an insect bite. Services for Mr. harris were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock (sic) at the Henderson Funeral home (sic), with the Rev. Donald Thompson of the Fairview United Methodist church (sic), in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens near Marshalltown. Marion C. Harris was born near Green Mountain on Jan 19, 1905, son of Charles and Alice Teager Harris. He was educated in the LeGrand school(sic) and married Della Savage on Jan. 4, 1930, in Marshalltown. The couple lived in Marshalltown until 1947, where he was employed by Dunham-Bush. They then moved onto a farm six miles west and north of Toledo, where Mr. Harris died. He was a member of the Tama County Farm Bureau. Surviving is the wife, an only daughter, Mrs. Jeannine Quick, and two grandchildren, Debbie and Kyle Quick, Toledo, his mother of Gladbrook, two brothers, Arlo and Jerry Harris, in the Tama area. Preceding him in death were his father in 1961, and a brother in infancy.
