Born Aug. 8, 1924, in Catlett, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mamie Woodward Nicholson. She attended Gallagher Church of the Nazarene. Her survivors include her sons and their wives, James and Shirley Embrey of Midland, Va., David and Joyce Embrey of East Bank; grandchildren, David L., James, Timothy and Sarah; and six great-grandchildren.
