Description	:	Della Mae Lewis Combs, 89, of Zionville, wife of the late Marvin Combs, died Thursday afternoon, October 4, 2001 at Watauga Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1912 in the Meat Camp community of Watauga County, to the late Charles Grover and Minnie Groce Lewis. Mrs. Combs was a graduate of Boone High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Mabel United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, two granddaughters, five grandsons, two sisters, and one brother. She was born February 2, 1912 in the Meat Camp community of Watauga County, to the late Charles Grover and Minnie Groce Lewis. Mrs. Combs was a graduate of Boone High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Mabel United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, two granddaughters, five grandsons, two sisters, and one brother. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Kenneth Combs and Jerry Marvin Combs; two sisters, Annie Blackburn and Dare Carlton and one brother, Glenn Lewis. Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 pm at Mabel United Methodist Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 1-2 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Evans. Burial will follow in Henson’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-8:30 at Hampton Funeral Service.
