Mrs. Sandstead passed away at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, at the East Phillips County Hospital here. She had been in declining health for some time and had been hospitalized in Denver for about a month before being brought to the local hospital on October 6. She was 52 years of age. As Della Centanial McBride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. McBride, Mrs. Sandstead was born September 10, 1911, at Nevada, Missouri. She moved with her parents to Fort Collins, Colorado, when 2 years of age. She was graduated from the Fort Collins High School in 1932 and from the Federal Arts College in 1935. On October 21, 1934, she was united in marriage to Herbert J. Sandstead in Fort Collins. They moved to Holyoke in 1938 and had made their home here since that time. Mrs. Sandstead assisted her husband in their paint and appliance business here and she became well known throughout this area. Mrs. Sandstead was a member of the Methodist church, a past president of the auxiliary to American Legion Post No. 90 of Holyoke, and was a member of Division II, Federated Women's Club of Holyoke. Preceding her in death were her father, John W. McBride, who passed away in 1933; her mother, Sara E. McBride, in 1952; and two brothers, Leo D. McBride who died in 1923, and Mrs. Sandstead's twin brother, Delbert W. McBride, who passed away in 1948. Survivors include her husband, Herbert J. Sandstead, Holyoke; a niece, Mrs. Harry W. Ehrlick, Laurel, Montana; a nephew, Filmore McBride, Riverside, California; and many friends.
