Description	:	DELLAS JOHN GROSS was born December 31, 1935 at Chasley, ND to John and Marie (Hirschkorn) Gross. He attended rural school near Chasley and at an early age began helping his parents on the family farm. Dellas enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1958. Following the death of his father, he was discharged and then returned to the family farm where he continued to operate it until the early 1960's. He then worked various jobs in North Dakota. Read More	DELLAS JOHN GROSS was born December 31, 1935 at Chasley, ND to John and Marie (Hirschkorn) Gross. He attended rural school near Chasley and at an early age began helping his parents on the family farm. Dellas enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1958. Following the death of his father, he was discharged and then returned to the family farm where he continued to operate it until the early 1960's. He then worked various jobs in North Dakota. Dellas was united in marriage to Iris Alber on October 3, 1966 at Shelby, MT. They lived at various places and then Dellas went to work for a rancher in Corson County. In 1971, he began working at the Thunder Hawk elevator and in 1974, purchased a home in Morristown. He continued working in Thunder Hawk until 1985. Dellas worked for the Corson County Highway Department and then in 1989 he began working for Wheeler Manufacturing in Lemmon. He worked there for 9 years until his retirement. Dellas kept busy doing yard work and always planted a large garden. He enjoyed fishing and boxing, but most of all spending time with his family. He passed away suddenly the morning of May 26th in Lemmon. Surviving family members are his wife; Iris, Morristown; his mother, Marie Engel, McClusky, ND; sons; Scott, Tucson, AZ; Mitchell (Shannon), Bismarck, ND; daughters; Denise (Martin) Campbell, Malta, MT; Tamra (John) Fandrich, Minot, ND; Lori (Rodney) Opdahl, Manfred, ND; & April (Brent) Schaffer, Bismarck, ND; a brother; Alvin (Ilean) Gross, McClusky, ND; sisters; Joyce (Rodny) Opdahl, Landa, ND; and Ida (Joe) Dugan, Zap, ND; as well as 15 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Dellas was preceded in death by his father, one son, Larry and one grandson, Kasey Fandrich. Burial in Greenhill Cemetery. Arrangements by Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
