Description	:	Delmer was born February 4, 1907, on the family farm west of Kenmare, the son of Otto and Edith (Miner) Mickelson. He was raised west of Kenmare where he attended country school, and helped on the family farm. He retired from farming and moved to Kenmare where he purchased the Travel Inn from Frank Shook, which he operated for a number of years. Read More	Delmer was born February 4, 1907, on the family farm west of Kenmare, the son of Otto and Edith (Miner) Mickelson. He was raised west of Kenmare where he attended country school, and helped on the family farm. He retired from farming and moved to Kenmare where he purchased the Travel Inn from Frank Shook, which he operated for a number of years. He later worked for the city as the street and water supervisor and then became a city policeman, retiring at the age of 82. He married Grace Freeberg, March 10, 1931, at Minot, ND. She preceded him in death on September 17, 1985. Delmer was a life member of United Methodist Church, Kenmare, and was active in the Kenmare Senior Citizens Center, was a volunteer fireman for more than 50 years, serving in many capacities, including Fire Chief; and was a life member of the North Dakota Peace Officers Association. "Dad, you have traveled extensively, including to the Arctic Circle, but this is your longest journey yet. We will meet again when we make that journey. Rest in peace. Thanks for the good life!" He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; parents, Otto and Edith; grandson, Kirk Erickson; brother, Herbert Mickelson, sisters, Jenny Gilman, Wyota Walseth and Luella Boughton.
