Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 pm Wednesday May 21, 2104, The Rev. Constanza Hagmier, will officiate at St. Johns Lutheran Church Madison. Burial will be in the Lake Madison Lutheran Cemetery. Public visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. Tuesday at the Randall Funeral Home. Family will be present beginning at 6:30 pm to greet friends at the funeral home. Delores Jean Heyer was born May 28, 1928 to Ted and Julia (Baumgartner) Heyer near Rutland, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm south of Rutland, where she enjoyed working with her dad in the fields, milking cows, and raising her many dogs. She attended the Rutland School graduating with the class of 1946.She later attended and graduated from cosmetology school in Sioux Falls. Delores was united in marriage to William (Bill) Fleissner on September 15, 1947 at Redwood Falls, Minnesota. After their marriage the couple lived in the communities of Milbank, Brookings, and Mankato, Minnesota, before moving to Madison in 1956 where she continued to reside until the time of her death. Delores was employed at the J.C. Penny Stores in Brookings and Madison, as well as the Brookings Savings and Loan. Delores was employed for over 30 years as a realtor for Ron and Tom Felker in Madison. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron Swier of Madison; grandchildren, Scott (Theresa) Swier and Brooke (Chris) Schloss both of Avon; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Will and Kate Swier also of Avon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Melanie Sue, and a sister Dardenella Tweet.
