Mrs. Lane became ill in September and first underwent surgery in the Hastings Hospital on Sept. 19. A week later she was flown to Rochester, Minn., where she spent five and a half weeks at the Mayo Clinic before returning to her home in Nelson on November 3. Mrs. Lane, the former Hortense Sibert, was the daughter of Mrs. Milton G. Sibert and the late Mr. Sibert. She was born at Cadams on Sept. 1, 1914. Mrs. Lane grew up in Nelson, where she became a member of the Presbyterian Church. Following her graduation from the Nelson schools she taught for eight years in the rural schools of the county. On April 4, 1943, she was united in marriage with Mr. Lane and to this union their two children at home, Priscilla, 14, and Timmy, 10, were born. Two and a half years ago, after living in numerous American cities where Mr. Lane was called by his work, Mrs. Lane returned to Nelson with her family. In February, 1959, the Lanes purchased the Nelson insurance agency with which they had been associated for four months. In addition to her husband, the daughter and son, Mrs. Lane is survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna Sibert, and a brother, Col. Herbert Sibert of Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. The Rev. Mr. Ewel Vaughan officiated at the Wednesday services. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, December 22, 1960
