Description	:	Centerville Daily Iowegian Tuesday, July 12, 1955 Obituary Dennie Steven Fenton, son of the late Steven and Caroline Fenton, was born in Independence Township, Appanoose County, March 31, 1882 and departed this life July 1, 1955 at 3:15 PM at his home 201 1/2 E. Read More	Centerville Daily Iowegian Tuesday, July 12, 1955 Obituary Dennie Steven Fenton, son of the late Steven and Caroline Fenton, was born in Independence Township, Appanoose County, March 31, 1882 and departed this life July 1, 1955 at 3:15 PM at his home 201 1/2 E. Van Buren St., at the age of 73 years and three months. He was united in marriage to Delilah Miller February 10 1900 and to this union eight children were born. Those surviving are his wife Delilah, three daughters, Mrs. Faye Porter of near Centerville, Mrs. Ed Gotheridge of Colona, Illinois, and Mrs. Ben Glasgow of Udell; five sons: Otha and Kenneth of near Centerville, Vernon of Albia, and Harold and Dale of Unionville, Iowa. One brother and one sister, Dan Fenton and Mrs. Mary Bell Curtis of Centerville; 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Duane Glasgow, is serving with the U.S. Navy at San Diego California. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Harriet Ely, Mrs Emma Hixenbaugh, and Mrs. Melvina Donovan; three brothers, Milton, James and Franklin Fenton and four grandsons, Paul, Lyle and Charles Fenton and Larry Porter. He was a retired farmer, he moved from his farm in Independence Township to a farm west of Udell 21 years ago, and from there to Unionville, Iowa. He came to Centerville November 11, 1954. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Centerville. He was a kind and loving husband and father. He is gone but not forgotten. Funeral services were held at the Brushy Church Sunday, July 3, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. James H Thomas, pastor of the first Baptist Church of Centerville. Burial was in the Brushy Cemetery.
