Description	:	Dennis E. Moore, age 83, of Kearney passed away April 19, 2022, at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney. He was born to James Thomas and Eleanor Claire (Thorn) Moore on the family farm south of Mason City on April 21, 1938. Dennis graduated from Mason City High School in May of 1955. He served in the US Army from March 21, 1956, to January 31, 1958. After returning home, he worked on the farm. He was born to James Thomas and Eleanor Claire (Thorn) Moore on the family farm south of Mason City on April 21, 1938. Dennis graduated from Mason City High School in May of 1955. He served in the US Army from March 21, 1956, to January 31, 1958. After returning home, he worked on the farm. Dennis married Phyllis Schall in February 1959 at Mason City, and they were blessed with 4 children. Dennis had many different areas of work during his lifetime and enjoyed it all, from buying cattle, selling insurance, to preparing taxes, building houses and volunteering on the rescue squad and fire department. Denny married Joan (Hudson) Morton on November 10, 1978 in Broken Bow, and they made it back in time for the state playoff game to support Ansley football! They adored their Ansley friends and neighbors. After several years of living in Ansley, they ventured to Wahoo in 1985, where they purchased The Bronson Agency and renamed it Insurance and Moore. They also established American Travel and H & R Block. He built several homes in Wahoo with the last one being their dream home where he and Joan lived for 20 years. Dennis is survived by his wife, Joan Moore of Kearney, children, Diana and James Meiergerd of Fremont, Tom and Kathy Moore of Glendale Az, and James and Judy Moore of Kearney, Jody Tuerff of Omaha, Marilee and Dave Malcom of Johnson Lake and Sharon and Bruce Hueftle of Holdrege. Grandchildren, Kalin (Lexi) Adams, Megan Adams (Alec), Molly Meiergerd (Robb Melcher), Grant Meiergerd, Katie Meiergerd, Matthew Moore (Callie Opbroek), Cameron Moore, Mitch (Stacey) Darbro, Adam (Sara) Darbro, Bronson ( Melissa) Malcom, Brooke (Ross) Huxoll, Brennon (Kylee) Malcom, Natalie Nelsen (Austin Pacey), Jenilea (Clay) Thomas, Dakotah (Annika) Hueftle, Kaleb (Melanie) Hueftle. Greatgrandchildren who adored him, Emma and Maci Darbro, Riley and Calan Darbro, Brock, Braelyn and Brantley Malcom, Brenleigh and Briony Huxoll, Maddux and Sloane Malcom, Makenzie, Micah and Gracyn Nelsen, Samuel, Lucas, Addie and Ellie Thomas, Dawsyn, Sullivan, and Oaklyn Hueftle. Dennis is also survived by his brothers, Larry (Elaine) of Fremont, Dan of Ansley and sisters Mary Klimek, Ord; Judy (Bob) Miller, Broken Bow; Joyce (Floyd) Melcher of Madison and sisters-in-law Bonnie Moore of Albany, Oregon, and Barb Moore of Kearney. Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Paul, brothers Jack, Jim, Bill, Ed, Gary and Joey, and his parents. Denny was one of a kind, was fiercely stubborn, fiercely committed to his beliefs and loved with his whole heart. He impacted everyone he touched and will be tremendously missed by all. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, May 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow. Interment will be at Mason City Cemetery.
