Description	:	Dennis Francis Casey was born in Pleasant Township, Cass County, near Griswold on October 27, 1883, son of John C. and Anna Cline Casey. Ida Alma Long, daughter of Hagy and Nancy Rogers Long, was born September 27, 1893, on a farm in Monroe County near Lovilia, Iowa. He was one of nine children and Ida one of five. Dennis and Ida were married February 10, 1915, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia by Father P. N. McDermott of Massena. Read More	Dennis Francis Casey was born in Pleasant Township, Cass County, near Griswold on October 27, 1883, son of John C. and Anna Cline Casey. Ida Alma Long, daughter of Hagy and Nancy Rogers Long, was born September 27, 1893, on a farm in Monroe County near Lovilia, Iowa. He was one of nine children and Ida one of five. Dennis and Ida were married February 10, 1915, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia by Father P. N. McDermott of Massena. They came to a farm three miles southeast of Massena and lived in Massena. Dennis was engaged in farming in partnership with his brother, Charles, on their father's farm nearby. In 1919 they moved to the John C. Casey farm and resided there until 1945, when Dennis was forced to retire from farming because of health reasons. Moving to Massena, Dennis was employed for a number of years at the West Side Cafe and clerked sales for the Farmers Savings Bank before his final retirement. Ida worked as assistant cook at the Massena School in the hot lunch program. Dennis, a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Knights of Columbus, passed away August 23, 1966, and is buried in the church cemetery. Ida continued to live in town until September, 1973, when she moved to Albia to be near her sister, the only living member of her immediate family. She enjoyed doing needlework and textile and black velvet painting. An active member with the Daughters of Isabella while living in Corning, and the Altar and Rosary Society in Massena.
