Rossow was born on February 12, 1939 in St. Paul, MN to Marvin and Ruby (Knickrehm) Rossow. As a small child the family moved back to the family farm near Stratford, SD where he attended country school. He graduated from Groton High School with the class of 1957. He moved to the Twin Cities in Minnesota where he worked with his brother at Gordy's Gas Port for a year. He then moved back to the family farm. On June 21, 1975 he married Donna (Smith) Laprath at Stratford. They made their home on the family farm. Donna died on May 13, 2006 in Minneapolis, MN. Dennis continued to live on the farm until the time of his death. Dennis was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aberdeen where he was an Elder. He also was a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed having coffee with his buddies at Stratford, traveling and hunting. He enjoyed watching the Vikings, Twins, movies, the history channel and anything related to WWII. He enjoyed driving people to church and helping family and friends in anyway he could. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Grateful for having shared Dennis' life are his children, Marcia (Alan) Hoffman, West Point, NE, Thomas (Marcia) Laprath, Dallas, SD, Amy (David) Whitlock, White Bear Lake, MN, grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Jaclyn, Joseph, Irene, Isaac and Nathan and sister, Margaret Marten. Preceding Dennis in death are his wife, Donna Rossow, parents, Marvin and Ruby Rossow, brother, Gordon (Judy) Rossow and brother-in-law, Ed Marten —Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home Note: Denny's middle initial K. was intended to stand for Knickrehm, his mother's maiden name.
