Main St. The Reverend William Paepke will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Rossow was born May 4, 1911 to Ferdinand and Anna (Kutter) Rossow on a farm near Stratford. He lived near Mission, Texas for two years, before returning to the Stratford area. He attended his freshman year of high school at Stratford and then transferred to Groton High School to play football. He graduated from Groton High School and then began working on various farms. He married Ruby Knickrehm on June 13, 1934. He farmed in the area for a few years and then moved to Minneapolis, where he worked for a streetcar company. He then returned to the family home to help his father, who was in failing health. He remained on the family farm until his father’s death. His wife died in March 1971. He married Garnet (Shattuck) Laprath on March 12, 1974, at Clark. They travelled extensively to foreign countries and all of the 50 states. They spent the winter months in Mission, Texas. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Stratford, where he was an elder and trustee of the church for several years.He was also a member of Mud Creek Local Farmer’s Union Association, where he served as treasurer for many years. He loved sports, especially baseball and football. He also enjoyed watching educational TV. He loved to farm, travel, hunt and fish. Survivors include his wife of Stratford; two sons, Gordon Rossow of Kenosha, Wis., and Dennis Rossow of Stratford; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Marten of Roseville, Minn; two brothers, [twin] Melvin Rossow of Conde, and Harold Rossow of Groton; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, three brothers and one sister. Casketbearers will be Jerry Rossow of California, Robert Rossow and Todd Osterman, both of Conde, Dick Rossow and Kevin Rossow, both of Stratford, Robert Osterman of Andover and Gene Raap of Aberdeen. Organist will be Stacy Dayton, and soloist will be Rod Evans, accompanied by Barrett Evans. Ushers will be Duane Jark and Don Dayton. Flower attendants will be Fae Dayton and Marge Gubin.
