Description	:	Denny Frey, 67, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was dearly loved by his wife Bonnie of 46 years, daughter Amy and her husband Adam Kopp, son Kevin and his wife Meagan Frey, was Papa to grandchildren Hank and Joey Frey. He was dearly loved by his wife Bonnie of 46 years, daughter Amy and her husband Adam Kopp, son Kevin and his wife Meagan Frey, was Papa to grandchildren Hank and Joey Frey. No matter how sick he got, they could bring out the twinkle in his eyes and put a smile in his face. Denny was born in Emerson, Nebraska to Delmer and Hilda Frey in 1951. He grew up on the family farm with his sister Janet. He graduated from Emerson/Hubbard High School in 1969. He was able to go to his 50th Class reunion in May of this year. In 1973, Denny and Bonnie were married. They were blessed with children Amy and Kevin. They were one of greatest joys in life. He always said “I am so lucky my kids turned out to be great human beings.” As a young man, Denny worked for Beermann Brothers in Dakota county, Nebraska as a field mechanic. A year later, he joined the United States Air Force and was trained to be a helicopter mechanic. After his discharge, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and soon started his own business, Frey Construction. He started framing crews with 42 employees. He was president of the the Framers Association in Lincoln. In 1982, he formed Frey Custom Homes and did complete home construction and built many commerical businesses too. He never wanted to retire and became a superintendent with Broadmoor Development Company four years ago. He said this was the best job ever. He was always learning something new and was excited to share his knowledge. To describe Denny, people have often said that he was an all-around good guy. Generous, kind and just plain like to have fun. He was knowlegelable in many areas and had the gift of gab. He was a loyal friend who was always there. He was proud to be an American, loved God, friends and family. He enjoyed hunting, dancing with Bonnie, playing with the grandkids, Husker football, and traveling.
