Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," August 30, 1947: Denver S. Parks, 70, died at his home in Meadowdale addition at 7:24 p.m. Friday. He was the son of Silas and Nancy Parks, born in Jefferson county, May 24, 1877. He moved to Wapello county as a child, and had lived in this county ever since. Surviving are his wife, Clara, two sons, Leroy of Ottumwa and Cashius B. Parks in the United States army; a daughter, Mrs. Lee Snook of Eldon; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Bivins of Arkansas City, Kan., and a nephew Harry J. Parks of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. W.B. Friend of the Pentecostal church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
