Read More	FOX, DERYL DEAN—Deryl Dean Fox was born to Harry and Bernice (Nun) Fox on Jan. 16, 1932 in the township of Chelsea, Fillmore county, and passed away Monday, November 29, 1999 at the Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury, at the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 13 days. He was baptized in the Chelsea Church, and attended District No. 2 in Chelsea through the eighth grade, and then attended the Geneva High School and graduated with the class of 1948. After graduation, Deryl helped his father and several other farmers in the area. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954 and was a member of the American Legion since 1980. Deryl was married to Sandra Joe of Alexandria, on May 25, 1952, and to them 4 children were born, Deryl Dean Jr., Pamela Jean, Thersa Lynn, and Donovan Ray. Following his divorce in 1973, he moved to Hebron from Fairbury where he had worked for Wonder Bread for over 14 years. He began working for Old Home and remained with them until 1990, when he retired. At the time of his retirement, he had worked for over 30 years as a route salesman. Deryl intended to move to the family farm in Chelsea following retirement, but his illness forced him to sell the farm. He moved to Pima, Az., and was married to Marilyn Ama on Aug. 19, 1995. Marilyn passed away in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bernice Fox; and by his wife, Marilyn. Surviving are sons, Dean, and Donovan; daughters, Pam Watson, and Theresa Armstrong; sister, Shirley Peetzke and husband, Clarence; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; many cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, from the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Brian Kottas officiating. Karen Kiefer accompanied Tom Kiefer who sang “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket bearers were Gale Polage, Lawrence Bauer, Delbert Sorge, James D. Joe, Jerry Meyer and Earl Bohlen.
