Description	:	Detlef Warnsholz was born March 12, 1847, at Hohenwestedt, Holstein, Germany. In the spring of 1867 he came to the United States. After remaining in the northern part of Indiana for about a year he came to Nebraska and took a homestead eight miles west of Lincoln. In the year 1874 he married Miss Wilhelmine Plautz. Six children were born to this union, three of which died in early infancy. In 1876 he moved to a farm five miles west of Malcolm, Nebraska. In 1889 he lost his wife. In the spring of 1867 he came to the United States. After remaining in the northern part of Indiana for about a year he came to Nebraska and took a homestead eight miles west of Lincoln. In the year 1874 he married Miss Wilhelmine Plautz. Six children were born to this union, three of which died in early infancy. In 1876 he moved to a farm five miles west of Malcolm, Nebraska. In 1889 he lost his wife. The following year he again entered matrimony with Miss Bertha Oldenburg, who bore him one son who preceded him in death in 1916. In the spring of this year the deceased had moved to Seward with his wife, at the same time transferring their church membership from Trinity Lutheran Church to St. John's Church, where both were in good standing until their death. July 8th of this year the deceased suddenly and unexpectedly lost his wife. His health being impaired at the time he could not overcome the shock. Although he received all the care and tender nursing possible he grew weaker. July 30th at 7 p.m. he departed at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 18 days, leaving to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. Emma Ahrens of Garland, two sons, Emil Warnsholz of Ada, Minn.; Richard Warnsholz of Garland, Nebr.; one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, twenty-one grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, besides one brother Marcus Warnsholz, one sister, Mrs. Helen Deinert and other relatives and friends. After services at the home of the deceased and in St. John's Church August 23, 1926 at 2 p.m. interment was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery ten miles east of Seward, Nebraska.
