Dewayne was baptized on March 25, 1928 at St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor Cholcher and he was confirmed on May 11, 1941 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Pebler. Dewayne was baptized on March 25, 1928 at St. John Lutheran Church by Pastor Cholcher and he was confirmed on May 11, 1941 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Pebler. Dewayne was married to Olga Vetrovsky on January 26, 1955 by Pastor Ernstmeyer at St. John Lutheran Church. They had four children. Dewayne attended school in the District 11 school and in St. John Lutheran Parochial School and three years ago he completed his work on and received his G.E.D. Throughout his life Dewayne served his church in many different offices on the Church Council, was on the Kramer Elevator Board, was a member of the American Legion Post 294 at Hallam for ten years, and was a member of the Crete V.F.W. Post 4959 for over 30 years. He served in Korea as an Army M.P. from December 8, 1950 to November 21, 1952. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church all of his life. He is survived by his wife, Olga; by four children, Denise and her husband Frank Slama, Dennis Kattau, Debra Dewey, and Doug Kattau; by three grandchildren, Victoria and Charles Slama and Eric Dewey; by two sisters, Laverne Wendelin and Mrs. Herman (Annice) Weidner; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred H. and Katie Kattau; two brothers, Fred Kattau Jr. and Raymond Kattau; and by one sister, Wilhelmina. Funeral services were held December 2, 1991 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kramer with Pastor John Heckmann officiating. Soloist was Delbert Reiss with Gloria Pospisil accompanying. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Kramer. Pallbearers were Harry Meinke, Gary Albers, Freddie Weidner, Elmer Dittmer, Joe Adams, and Kenny Henning.
