Read More	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," August 1, 1955: Dewey McDonough, 56, an employee of the city of Ottumwa for the past 40 years in the public works department, died at 10:35 p.m. Sunday at the Ottumwa hospital. He had been ill of a heart condition for several months. His home was at 103 South McLean street. The son of George and Margaret Brown McDonough, he was born in Ottumwa December 31, 1898. He had lived here all of his life. His marriage to Elsie Baker took place April 16, 1930, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Everett McDonough of Ottumwa, Cpl. Merle McDonough with the U.S. army at Ft. Carlson, Colo., and Jack McDonough at home, and one daughter, Constance McDonough at home. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Hallie Brown, Mrs. Genevieve Steele and Mrs. Gertrude Patkin, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Hazel Parks of Rock Island, Ill.; two brothers, Obie McDonough and Tim McDonough, both of Davenport; a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Robertson of Ottumwa, and two half-brothers, Harry McDonough of Cedar Rapids and William McDonough of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel, pending the completion of funeral arrangements. --------------- "McDONOUGH FUNERAL," From "Ottumwa Courier," August 2, 1955: Funeral services for Dewey McDonough, 56, veteran city employe who died at 10:35 p.m. Sunday at the Ottumwa hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson funeral chapel. His home was at 103 South McLean street. The Rev. L.C. Card, pastor of the First Church of the Open bible, will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Fellow employes in the city public works department will serve as pallbearers.
