Description	:	Hopkins Journal (Hopkins, Missouri) January 4, 1981 Dewey [Lewis] Shields, long-time resident of Siam, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1981, at Municipal Hospital, Clarinda, at the age of 82. He was born in Adams County, the son of Joseph [Milton] and Amelia [Walter] Shields. He moved to Siam with his parents when he was seven years old. He attended school at Siam and worked for nearby farmers. He was married to Coryl Nevin of New Market on March 1, 1922. His parents, seven brothers, five sisters preceded him in death. He leaves his wife Coryl of the home; one son, Dennis, Kansas City; one daughter, Doris Lea Van Horn and husband, Val, Forest Lake, Minn.; four grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and friends. The funeral was Wednesday morning at the Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda.
