Description	:	Dewey C. Crandall was an original participant in the Durham Land Colony. On July 6, 1918, he was issued a deed to Farm Laborer Allotment "F." (p. 271) .....In an interview with Louise Peirano Salvo, 'Dewey Crandall had the house on the corner of Lott and Garden. They were the nicest neighbors, always friendly to us as we used to go to that corner and meet the school bus. Funeral services will be conducted in the Brusie Funeral Home Tuesday at 1 p.m. for DeWitt Clinton Crandall, who died in an Oroville hospital Sunday morning. "Crandall was born in Nimshew on Nov. 23, 1882, and had spent his entire life in Butte County. He had made his home for the past 46 years in Durham where he was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Durham. "Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Crandall of Durham; a son, Raymond of Orangevale; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Selma Byrne of Oroville and Mrs. Zolia Treat of Thermalito. "Rev. James O. Miller of the Durham Community Church will officiate at the services and interment will take place in the Glen Oaks Memorial Park."
