Burial will be made in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Death was brought on by heart trouble. Mr. Oehler was born on a farm in Delaware County, April 2, 1878, and had spent all of his life in the county with the exception of several years. With his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oehler, he moved to Dyersville when eleven years old. He graduated from the high school there and then attended Lenox College at Hopkinton for a year. For a time he helped his father and then went to Dixon, Ill., law school. He graduated from this institution in 1901 and after examinations was admitted to the bar in both Delaware and Dubuque counties. Mr. Oehler open a law office at Thompson, Iowa in 1905. On June 5, 1907, he was married to Miss Agnes Kirkwood of Hopkinton. Mr. and Mrs. Oehler lived in Thompson until June 1908, when they came to Hopkinton that he might assist Alexander Kirkwood in his furniture store. Failing health caused Mr. Kirkwood to give up his business and Mr. Oehler bought it in the following year. He was a licensed undertaker and conducted this business in connection with the furniture store for 14 years when he sold to A. H. Larkin. He is survived by his widow, a brother Ambrose Oehler of Dorchester, Wis. and a sister Mr. E. E. Lux, of near Hopkinton. Source: DUBUQUE TELEGRAPH HERALD, APRIL 30, 1929 *
