Description	:	Diane Beryl (nee Martin) Riffel, age 76, passed away after a long and valiant fight against cancer on June 26, 2021. Diane was born and raised in Boone, Iowa. Diane was the last of 10 children born to Charles and Etta Martin. She graduated from Boone High School in 1962. She spent the next 30 years living around the country as the wife of a military pilot. Read More	Diane Beryl (nee Martin) Riffel, age 76, passed away after a long and valiant fight against cancer on June 26, 2021. Diane was born and raised in Boone, Iowa. Diane was the last of 10 children born to Charles and Etta Martin. She graduated from Boone High School in 1962. She spent the next 30 years living around the country as the wife of a military pilot. In 2014, she returned to the Boone area to live with her sister. In 2019, she moved to Texas to be closer to her children. Diane was a lover of all animals and children. She worked in childcare as a nanny, for most of her adult life. She loved doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though Diane's health was failing for years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kara Lynn; sister, Maxine; brothers, Gerald, Albert, Richard, Raymond, and Wallace. She is survived by her brother, Bill (Gerrie) Martin; sisters, Alice Whittlesesy and Hazel Peterson; sister-in-law, Betty Martin; two daughters, Jamie (Jerry) Gray and Kristen (Ricky) Erwin; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a flock of birds who now reside in Texas. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport, Iowa.
