Weber will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Tilden with Pastor Theta Dame officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery following the luncheon. Diana Fay Weber, age 69 of rural Tilden, Nebraska passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, Nebraska on December, 14th 2015. Diana lost her battle with metastatic Malignant Melanoma of the brain. Diana was born on September 4, 1946 to Wayne Alphious and Eloida "Dottie" Eldora Ware Morse. Wayne was in the US Navy at the time, stationed at the US Naval Base at Chelsea, Massachusetts. Diana had 3 sisters: Sarah Morse, who was stillborn, Carolyn Capone, and Wanda Cornett. Diana graduated from Neligh High School in 1965, then attended Kearney State College and studied Nursing. Diana was married to Ronald Dean Weber on December 26th, 1967, during a blizzard. They welcomed their only child, Nancy Lynn Weber, on December 9th, 1973, also during a snowstorm, and 6 weeks early. Diana was active in her community in several ways, and made lifelong friends. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ Consistory for several years. Diana also enjoyed the Oakdale Country club and loved her club sisters dearly. She was a leader of Girl Scout Troop 332, who had not one, but two of its troop members attend wider opportunities at one of the four World Centers: her daughter, Nancy, went to "Our Cabana" in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and April Hanson went to "Our Chalet" in Adelboden, Switzerland. Not many Girl Scout troop leaders can say that they had two girls go to World Centers. Diana was active in a quilt club and was a prolific quilter, whose meticulous hand stitches were often mistaken for machine quilting by county and state fair judges! Another thing that distinguished Diana was her claim to fame - Fried Bread. Every holiday gathering and every close family friend funeral you could count on Diana's tasty homemade rolls or fried bread. She has passed this tradition to her nephews, Dwayne and Joe as well as her daughter, Nancy. Diana was also an avid traveler and visited several countries including Panama, the Bahamas, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. They have also traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and 47 of the 48 contiguous United States, missing only Rhode Island. Most recently, Ron and Diana have been traveling the country and crossing off all the items on her bucket list. During their travels, they enjoyed such adventures as a cross country rail tour in Canada, lighthouses of Michigan and Mackinac Island, visited Gettysburg, took an Alaska Cruise, a cruise to the Panama Canal, and so much more. These travels created a voracious picture taker in Diana and she chronicled many events and lives with her camera and her pictures. Germany trip alone was over 6000 photos! Diana is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Ron Weber of Tilden, NE; Daughter, Nancy, and her wife, Barb Weber, of Omaha, NE; Sister, Carolyn and Vito Capone of Aurora, CO; Sister, Wanda and Steve Cornett of Oakdale, NE; Sister-in-law, Diana G. Weber of Lawrence, KS; Brother-in-law, Don Weber and Louise Remm of Orlando, FL; Nephew, Jeff and Sue Weber of Cedarburg, WI; Niece, Amber and John Beals of Orlando, FL and family; Niece, Stacy and Jason Johnson of Lawrence, KS and family; Niece, Renee and Clint Olson and family, also of Lawrence, KS; Nephew, Dwayne and Julie Cornett and family of Plainview, NE; Nephew, Joseph and Shana Cornett and family of Oakdale, NE, as well as many cousins, Family friends: DeAnna Martensen and family; Carrol and Dennis Baier and family; and many more. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Eloida "Dottie" Morse; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Theodore and Louise Weber; Brother-in-law, Robert Dale Weber; Cousin, Joy Berendsen; and Niece, Danielle Cornett. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Cornett, Joe Cornett, Jason Johnson, Clint Olson, Jeremy Martensen, Travis Martensen, Trent Spulak and Eric Wiler. Honorary Pallbearers: Diana’s Oakdale Country Club Sisters: DeAnna Martensen, Leann Brandt, Nancy Rutjens, Phyllis Murray, Diane Grosserode, Pat Springer, Cindy Bossard, Therese Morrison, and Lloydene Taylor; family friends Florence Neyens and Irene Spulak.
