Description	:	Dirk H. Wissink was born December 11, 1877, on a farm near Sioux Center, the son of Herman and Johanna Wissink. He attended High School to Sioux Center and a Business School in Cedar Rapids. For several years, he operated a grocery store in Carmel in partnership with his brother, Henry Wesselink. He was married March 23, 1911 to Henrietta De Wild of Hull, and one son Harold, was born to them. They made their home in Orange City, where Mr. Wissink was Deputy Auditor. Wissink was born December 11, 1877, on a farm near Sioux Center, the son of Herman and Johanna Wissink. He attended High School to Sioux Center and a Business School in Cedar Rapids. For several years, he operated a grocery store in Carmel in partnership with his brother, Henry Wesselink. He was married March 23, 1911 to Henrietta De Wild of Hull, and one son Harold, was born to them. They made their home in Orange City, where Mr. Wissink was Deputy Auditor. He was County Auditor of Sioux County from January 2, 1915 to May 1, 1920. During this time he was active in Sunday School work. For the next 15 years, he was vice-president of the First National Bank of Hull. During his residence in Hull, Mr. Wissink was very active in church work, serving as Superintendent of the Sunday School for 16 years, and as an elder in the Consistory of the First Reformed Church for 16 years. Mr. and Mrs. Wissink moved back to Orange City in 1941 and worked as clerck in the auditor's office and during the first years of their residence in Orange City, he was an elder of the First Reformed Church. Mr. Wissink died December 29, 1958, after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his widow, one son, Harold of Washington, Iowa, two grandchildren, Mary Josephine and John Mary; and one sister, Mrs. Cynthia Mieras of Sioux Center. Mr. Wissink was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters; Jake Wissink, a full brother; John Wesselink, Arent Jan Wesselink, Henry Wesselink, Dick Wesselink, all half brothers and Mrs. (Dena) Jim Borgman and Mrs. (Lyda) Andrew Vander Stoep, half sisters. Half brothers [not] surviving are: Martin Wissink, Manus Wissink, Herman Wissink and half sister, Mrs. (Hattie) Cornelius Kammerman. We mourn the passing of a dear, kind, and loving husband, father brother, and friend but rejoice with him in his release from earthly pain and his entrance into the glories of our Lord.
