Wesselink, who died Tuesday morning at the Bert Vande Weerd home in Rock valley were held on Friday afternoon, at 1:00 p. m. at the Bernard Wesselink home and 1:30 at the First Reformed Church of Hull. Pallbearers were Melvin Borgman, Dick Raak, Harold Wesselink, Dr. Harry Vander Stoep, Harold A. Wesselink and Harold Wissink. Mr. D.J. Wesselink died at 5:00 a. m. on November 30, 1954 at the age of 83 years, one month and twelve days at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Vande Weerd, Rock Valley, Iowa. He was born October 18, 1871 at Greenleafton, Minneosta. At the age of two years with his parents he moved to Sioux county in a covered wagon. He made his confession of faith in the First Reformed church of Sioux Center and served as Sunday School teacher and Deacon there. He also served as Deacon and Elder in the First Reformed church of Hull and taught Bible class in a school north of Perkins. On March 17, 1896 he was united in marriage to Maria Elizabet Wandscheer and to this union were born six children. A daughter died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Wesselink with their family moved to Hull in 1914 residing on a farm until 1939 when they moved to town. His wife preceded him in death on December 27, 1951. For nearly three years he has been cared for in the homes of his five children, being bedridden for the last year. He is survived by his five children, Mary (Mrs. Bert Vande Weerd) of Rock Valley, Henry, Johanna (Mrs. A.W. Olivier), Dan and Bernard all of Hull along with seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Synthia Mieras of Sioux Center, and one half brother, Mr. Dick Wissink of Orange City.
