Dixie Charlene Loy was born December 8, 1937 in Jefferson, Iowa to Edith Merle (Partridge) and Charles Clifford Simons. She attended school in Lorimor and graduated from high school in 1956. On February 17, 1957 she was united in marriage to Paul Byron Loy in the Lorimor Methodist Church. They settled in Murray where she was a homemaker and they raised five sons. Dixie Charlene Loy was born December 8, 1937 in Jefferson, Iowa to Edith Merle (Partridge) and Charles Clifford Simons. She attended school in Lorimor and graduated from high school in 1956. On February 17, 1957 she was united in marriage to Paul Byron Loy in the Lorimor Methodist Church. They settled in Murray where she was a homemaker and they raised five sons. She worked at the Osceola Care Center, Murray Products for 20 years as a molder, leaving in 1985. Dixie and Paul later divorced and Dixie moved to Lorimor and worked at Winnebago Production until it closed. Dixie was a member of the Lorimor United Methodist Church, UMW and Lorimor Alumni Committee. Survivors include four sons: Larry (Rhonda) Loy; Jerry (Cheryl) Loy; Gary (Doris) Loy and Barry Loy; all of Murray; daughter-in-law: Brenda Loy of Indianola; two brothers: Paul Antrim of Oroville, Wash.; Bill (Una) Antrim of Boston Lake, N.Y.; four sisters: Marian Jannss of Longmont, Colo.; Pauline Hammer of Winterset; Mona (Richard) Hammans of Dallas Center, Ia.; Shirley (Owen) Dudney of Afton; one sister in-law: Viola Willett of Thayer; 9 grandchildren: Jessica (Nick) Hendrickson, Desirae Loy, Garth Loy all of Osceola; Jodeena (Trevor) Robins, Zach Loy, Stacy Loy, Ryan Loy all of Murray; Kyle Loy, Taylor Loy both of Indianola; and three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Haylee and Harley Hendrickson all of Osceola; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Terry, and her sister: Dorothy Woods, six brothers in-law, one sister in-law, two nephews and two nieces. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Lorimor United Methodist Church. Pastor Joel Sutton will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery. Open visitation, with family receiving friends will be 10-11:00 a.m. Friday at the Lorimor United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the family.
