Sheppard, 69 died at the City hospital Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock after an illness of six weeks. Mr. Sheppard had been in declining health for more than two years and his death was not unexpected. He had made his home with B. B. Greer, 407 Marion ----illegible----for the past twelve years. He was a member of the Monaghan Baptist Church and a member of Woodman of World, N ----illegible---- four daughters, Mrs. B. B. Greer, Mrs. G. F. Ballenger, Mrs. P. F. Emory, of this city and Mrs. J. B. Shelton of North Carolina: three sons, J. H. Sheppard of North Carolina, W. D. Sheppard, Kanapolis, N. C.: W. P. Sheppard, Augusta, Ga.: four brothers, H. V. Sheppard of Simpsonville: J. A. Jack and J. D. Sheppard of Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. H. V. Christopher and Mrs. Ed Vaughn of this city; and Mrs. Mad Dillard, Simpsonville. Funeral services for Mr. Sheppard will be held this afternoon at -:30 o'clock from the Rocky Creek Baptist Church, Rev. S. W. Jolly officiating. Internment will be in the Rocky Creek cemetery. The following nephews will serve as active pallbearers: John Christopher, Furman MaHaffey, Minor Christopher, Harley Godfrey, Belton Mahaffey and Clarence Christopher. Honorary pallbearers will be: C. A. Granger, F. C. Bates, W. H. Glasco, Newt Johnson, Will H. Bridges, W. M. Sheldon and W. H. Taft.
