Description	:	Dolores Pearl Kunert was born May 5, 1931, on a farm near Fairmont, Nebraska to Herbert Grant and Velma Elizabeth (Geis) Cast, the 2nd of five children and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the age of 87 years and 20 days. Read More	Dolores Pearl Kunert was born May 5, 1931, on a farm near Fairmont, Nebraska to Herbert Grant and Velma Elizabeth (Geis) Cast, the 2nd of five children and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the age of 87 years and 20 days. Her family moved to Beaver Crossing when she was one year old. Dolores graduated from Beaver Crossing High School with the class of 1948. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Kunert on June 29, 1950, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Beaver Crossing and to this union, nine children were born: Janet, Stephen, Ronald, John, Cynthia, Mark, Cheryl, Sandra and Teresa. Together they made their home in Beaver Crossing where Dolores was a busy mother. However, she found the time to work at the City Meat Market for ten years and since 1987, has been a member of the “LIFE” staff, serving as the editor producing the local paper. Dolores was an active supporter of her family, her church and her community. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society, serving her church in numerous capacities, including teaching Sunday School and CCD classes for many years and was always available to assist when any need was presented to her. She was the church correspondent to the Southern Nebraska Register, and was active with the LDCCW York Deanery. Dolores was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #178 for 61 years, serving as Chaplain for several years. She also was a member of the Beaver Crossing Chamber of Commerce and in 1999, she received the Man/Women/Organization of the Year award. In 1988, Dolores was honored with the Nebraska Merit Mother award and became a member of the Nebraska Mother’s Association. For several years she assisted with and organized the Food Connection activities in Beaver Crossing, providing for families in need. In 2000, Bob and Dolores enjoyed celebrating their 50th anniversary with family and friends. Dolores always was ready with a smile and a helping hand which will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and the community of Beaver Crossing. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert in 2003, granddaughter, Emmaline in 1996, brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Fran Cast, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frances Cast, Darrell Zimmer, Leroy and Lillie Kunert, Laverne and Eleanor Kunert, Eugene and Barb Kunert, William and Jean Kunert, and Gary Kunert.
