Description	:	SILVER CREEK — Don D. Grosch, 74, lifelong resident of the Silver Creek area, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at Bryan LGH in Lincoln. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg, with the Revs. Kerry Relihan, Abby Jones and Mike Ulffers officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Silver Creek Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Grosch, 74, lifelong resident of the Silver Creek area, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at Bryan LGH in Lincoln. Don was born on July 1, 1940, in Central City to Gottlieb and Elsie (Kohl) Grosch. He grew up in Silver Creek, attended rural Nancy County School, and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1959. Don served in the United States Army, was honorably discharged, and returned to Silver Creek. On Sept. 3, 1966, Don was united in marriage to Erma J. Morris. They made their home in Silver Creek, where Don farmed and worked with his father in Grosch Irrigation. Don worked for DeBruce Grain in Clarks for 10 years, for Preferred Sand in Genoa for six years, and was currently working part-time for the City of Stromsburg, where he took pride in maintaining the town square and park. Don was a member of Abundant Life Church in Grand Island. He faithfully attended the activities of his grandchildren. He enjoyed dancing and getting together with the coffee group. Since 1992, Don had served as president and caretaker of the Silver Creek Cemetery. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Erma of Silver Creek; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelli and Ross Berck of Osceola and Neeli and Charles Noyd of Stromsburg; one son, Jeremy Grosch of Grand Island; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick and Janet Grosch of O’Neill, Wayne and Kathy Grosch of Dublin, Ga., and Mort and Mary Grosch of Albion; and one sister, Sharon Cuba of Silver Creek. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Colton, Austin, Ethan, Christian, and Landen Berck and Emily, Isaac and Alex Noyd; and three aunts, Bessie Peterson of Clarks, Pauline Hemmer of St. Libory and Mabel Hinkle of Silver Creek. Preceding Don in death were his parents and brother-in-law, Bernard Cuba.
