Don was the youngest of six, born to Henry and Pauline (Wutzke) Cellmer in Sykeston, N.D., on Sept. 29, 1938, at the family farm. The following spring, the family moved to Edgar, Mont. Don was the youngest of six, born to Henry and Pauline (Wutzke) Cellmer in Sykeston, N.D., on Sept. 29, 1938, at the family farm. The following spring, the family moved to Edgar, Mont. After graduation from Edgar High School, Don entered the Navy for six years. He was trained as a radar operator and was stationed at Bremerton, Wash., and Honolulu, Hawaii. Don returned to the Billings area, starting an apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 30, in the mid-1960s. He was an active member and became a teacher for apprentices in the '70s and '80s. Later, he would become a State Plumbing Inspector. Don married LaVonne Doom in 1962. They lived in Billings until moving to the Bozeman area in the mid-'90s. While there, Don retired and was able to pursue his passion of fishing. Don, LaVonne and Doris Parker had a cabin at Georgetown Lake where they spent many hours enjoying the outdoors. Don is preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne; daughter, Melissa; parents Henry and Pauline; sister Dorothy Stocks, and brothers, Jarel and Maynard. He is survived by his brother, Lawrence; sister, Aliene Cooper; mother-in-law, Doris Parker; brother-in-law, Walt Doom, and many nieces and nephews. Visitations will begin Monday afternoon, Sept. 15, at Smith West Chapel, 304 34th St. W., in Billings. The Vigil will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Smith’s West Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, corner of 18th Street West and Broadwater, at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, ending with a luncheon at St. Pius. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the MS Society or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left for the family at smithfuneralchapels.com.
