He was born on Aug. 7, 1927, to Albon and Esther (Bevington) Hall of Alliance. Much of his youth was spent in Alliance. In 1945, he graduated from high school at Curtis, Neb. In 1946, he enlisted in the Navy and served almost two years aboard the U.S.S. Curtiss. Hall, 75 Aug 7, 1927-Sept 19, 2002 ALLIANCE - Donald Bevington Hall, 75, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Highland Park Care Center. He was born on Aug. 7, 1927, to Albon and Esther (Bevington) Hall of Alliance. Much of his youth was spent in Alliance. In 1945, he graduated from high school at Curtis, Neb. In 1946, he enlisted in the Navy and served almost two years aboard the U.S.S. Curtiss. Following his discharge, he returned to work on the Morrill county ranch established in 1888 by his grandfather, Eugene A. Hall, and operated by his father, Albon B. Hall. Following his father's death in 1968, he became president of Hall Cattle Co. He married Edna Mae (Ditsch) Brown on Febr. 26, 1971. He retired from active ranching in 2000. He was a member of the Cattle Capital Shrine Club, serving as its president in 1972. He also was active as a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, the Nebraska Cattlemen's Association, The National Cattlemen's Association, and the Scottish Rite and York Rite lodges. He especially enjoyed flying, golfing, and spending time at his cabin in the Black Hills. He is survived by his wife, Mae; children, Cory (Deb) Hall of Norwalk, Iowa, Cheryl Hall of Joplin, Mo., Steve (and Kim) Brown of Leavenworth, Kan., Larry (and Cindi) Brown of Desert Hills, Ariz., and Ron (and Cindy) Brown of Alliance; and grandchildren, Bryson, Whitney, and Trevor Hall of Norwalk, Jessica and Amanda Brown of Leavenworth, and Andrew Brown of Alliance. He also is survived by a sister, Nancy Lockhart, of Clovis, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Hall; and a half brother, Richard Beaumont. Mr. Hall's funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, with Rev. Paul Mottl officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
