Donald was born June 12, 1923 in Colfax to Henry P. and Marie E. Morasch. He married Juanita Scholz in Colfax on November 18, 1945, where they operated the family farm until Juanita's death on May 4, 2005. He was a lifetime member of the Colfax Elks Lodge #1794 and the Rebel Flat Grange since 1946, past president of the Mockonema Elevator Company, member ofDiamond Fire District #9, charter secretary of the Colfax FFA, lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Endicott where he was confirmed in 1939, and a member of the U.S. Army in 1943. In commemoration of the 1976 bicentennial celebration, Mr. Morasch initiated and worked tirelessly on the restoration of the Eells Park fountain in Colfax. Other civic duties included his many hours of volunteer work spent refurbishing the Colfax Cemetery office building and entry areas, landscaping and planting a row of 25 blue spruce trees on the west side of the cemetery. He and Juanita established the CHS Alumni Scholarship Fund in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, gardening and his grandchildren.
