He was born January 30, 1902 at Lebanon to John and Melissa Koontz Bingaman. He married Mable Greenfield June 24, 1925 at Douds. She died March 4, 1947. He worked as a casting grinder at Iowa Malleable Iron Co., Fairfield for 43 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Douds. Surviving are a son, Robert of Chariton, a granddaughter, Lori Seaton, Barnes City; two great-granddaughters, Logan and McKenzie Seaton, and a sister-in-law, Helen Greenfield, who made her home with the Bingamans, Douds. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodger; a twin brother, Dennis; a brother, Charles; and five sister, Sylvia Wells, Ethel Kirkhart, Lula Hedge, Lenna Strait and Greta Rider. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 1995 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, Pastor Les Nickel officiating. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. Memorials for Christ United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home.
