Read More	son of Herman and Minnie (Redies) Schweer Donald Schweer, 76, of Tripoli, Iowa passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Donald Carl Schweer was born on May 24, 1936, the son of Herman and Minnie (Redies) Schweer. He was baptized on June 7, 1936 and confirmed on April 2, 1950, both at St. John's Lutheran Church of Crane Creek. Don attended Warren #7 country school and the Fremont country school. On November 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Darlene Koepke at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Denver, Iowa. The couple made their home on the farm in rural Tripoli where he farmed along with his wife. In 1959, Don was called to active duty for the National Guard in Fort Riley, Kansas, due to the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Crane Creek, rural Tripoli where he was very active and held several positions. Don was president of the Potter Siding Creamery board, president of Tripoli Boosters Wrestling Club and member of the P.T.O.S. Survivors are his children, two sons, Allen (Suzi) Schweer of Tripoli, Iowa and Lee (Suanne) Schweer of Tripoli, Iowa; daughter, Diane DeGroote of Tripoli, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Danise Schweer of Waverly, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; three sisters, Gertrude Buhrow of Tripoli, Iowa, Leona Heath of Grundy Center, Iowa and Arlene Bunger of Fort Dodge, Iowa; brother, Larry (Linda) Schweer of Tripoli, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene Schweer on July 29, 1995; son, Eugene Schweer in 1994; infant daughter, LaDonna Schweer in 1959; son-in-law, Darren DeGroote in 2009 and brother, Alfred Schweer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli with Pastor Scott Duffus officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Crane Creek rural Tripoli. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and also an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
