Description	:	Donald Dean Fisher, 80, of Holton, died January 18, 2006 as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. He was born January 15, 1926 west of Holton, the son of John Swander and Elizabeth Ermina Hearn Fisher. Don graduated from Holton High School in 1944. He received his Business Degree from Kansas State University in 1949 and later his teaching certification. He had lived in the Holton community all of his life. Read More	Donald Dean Fisher, 80, of Holton, died January 18, 2006 as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. He was born January 15, 1926 west of Holton, the son of John Swander and Elizabeth Ermina Hearn Fisher. Don graduated from Holton High School in 1944. He received his Business Degree from Kansas State University in 1949 and later his teaching certification. He had lived in the Holton community all of his life. He was a farmer and stockman and had worked with his son, Doug for the past 30 years. He had also taught junior high school math in Holton from 1954 to 1967 and in Denison from 1967 to 1969. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holton since 1939. He was currently serving as Elder and had served on the Board of Deacons for 9 years. Don was one of the founding members of the Mustang Camping Club. He was a past member of the Holton Lions Club and had served on the Jackson Co. Farm Bureau Board. He was married to Mary Edith Pryor on December 24, 1947 in Fredonia. She died December 19, 1992. He was married to Donita Wilson on August 9, 2003 in Holton. She also died in the accident. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marvene Fisher, Rosanna Purdum, Ermina Fisher and Irene Davis Green, brothers, George, Fred and Oswell Fisher and a granddaughter. Survivors include 2 daughters, Donna Barnes and her husband, Mac of Redlands, CA and Diane Fisher of Manhattan, KS, 2 sons, Douglas Fisher and his wife, Nadine of Holton and Daryl Fisher and his wife, Angie of Garden City, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 23rd at the First Presbyterian Church in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
