Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with Dr. Ronald Unser officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today, with the family present 7-9 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Burgett was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Rice Lake, Wis. He moved to Sioux City in 1927 and attended Sioux City schools. He married Helen Millican March 10, 1940, in Ponca, Neb. The couple lived in Albuquerque, N. M., from 1960 to 1965. They moved to South Sioux City in 1978. He was a Volkswagen mechanic for many years; a machinist for Prince Manufacturing, and custodian at South Sioux City High School from 1978 until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Burgett was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10753 of South Sioux City. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; a son, Roger A., and his wife, Penny, of Boyden, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Marcia and Chester Tolles of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Janice and Grady Hynson of Flora Vista, N. M.; a brother, Lynn, and his wife, Mary, of Albuquerque, N. M.; six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Paltz and Mrs. Lola Monroe and Mrs. Gladys Funke, all of Sioux City, Mrs. Ernest (Mildred) Bates and Mrs. Herman (Edna) Bates, both of South Sioux City, and Mrs. Glenn (Fay) Chaplin of Como, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and a son, Donald M. Pallbearers will be Bill Gotch, Gene Crawford, Chuck Crawford, Bob Palmer, Dick Arnold, and Russell Brown.
