Description	:	The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Bud Shipley, six year old son of Mrs. Lyda Shipley, was solved Monday when the body of the missing boy was found on the bank of the Beaver, a quarter mile or so below the east Beaver bridge. The discovery was made by Fenton Bassett who had gone to the river to fish. He had crossed to the east side of the Klattenberg place when he noticed a body of a child lying on the creek bank in plain sight. Read More	The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Bud Shipley, six year old son of Mrs. Lyda Shipley, was solved Monday when the body of the missing boy was found on the bank of the Beaver, a quarter mile or so below the east Beaver bridge. The discovery was made by Fenton Bassett who had gone to the river to fish. He had crossed to the east side of the Klattenberg place when he noticed a body of a child lying on the creek bank in plain sight. Mr. Bassett made known his discovery at once and the body was taken in charge by an undertaker and brought to the city. It was easily identified as that of the Shipley lad. Monday evening the remains were laid at rest in Rose Hill cemetery, short services being conducted at the grave by Rev. King of the Baptist church. Bud Shipley disappeared from his home on Saturday, April 19th, and that evening a search was made by the Boy Scouts and others but without result. The last seen of the boy was about Saturday noon when Owen Berney met him going toward Stout Park. Sunday morning early a search was organized and conducted by the fire department but no trace of the child was discovered along the creek and as a final effort the creek was dragged for some distance. While it was not known until Monday what had become of the lad, it was the generally accepted opinion that he had fallen in the creek and drowned. It is apparent that during the recent rainy period when the water in the river was high, the body was carried down stream and as the water receded, it was left on the bank. While the finding of the little body cannot restore the child to its home, the family has a feeling of satisfaction in the knowledge that Buddy rests in Rose Hill and that he was accorded Christian burial.
