Description	:	Donald Morris, 55, rancher at Pompeys Pillar, died Sunday night of cancer at the Miles City Veterans Hospital. He began ranching in the Fly Creek area, southwest of Pompeys Pillar with his father, who died in 1954, but illness forced his retirement in January. Read More	Donald Morris, 55, rancher at Pompeys Pillar, died Sunday night of cancer at the Miles City Veterans Hospital. He had also worked for Great Western Sugar Co. in Billings. Mr. Morris was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Ballantine, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Morris. On March 5, 1946, he married Betty Sirrs, in Whittier, Calif. Survivors include the widow; a son, James, 6084 Old Hardin Road; two daughters, JoAnn and Judith, both of 820 Howard Ave.; and three sisters, Mrs. Orin Scammon, St. Ignatius, Mrs. Charles Stallings, Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. William Beard of Ballantine. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is in charge. The Rev. Bob Firebaugh and the Rev. Gale Anderson of Ballantine Congregational Church officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Jerry Schissler, Charles Felton, Marvin Robinette, Doran, James and Tom Devorak. Mr. Morris died Sunday at the Veteran's Hospital in Miles City. Survivors include the widow, one son, two daughters and three sisters. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
