Description	:	Donald Eugene Barker, 78, of Keosauqua, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren Hospice in Keosauqua. Born June 4, 1933, in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of Arnold and Ruth Gilbert Barker and his stepmother, Ruth Clark Barker. He married Marcia "Marty" Scotton. They divorced but remained close friends. She died May 12, 2012. Mr. Barker worked as a horse trainer in Florida, a heavy equipment operator and for John Smith Seeding in Keosauqua. Survivors include four daughters, Amy Bovee and Leslie Young, both of Hawkinsville, Ga., Melinda Davenport of Keosauqua and Becky Keller of Fairfield; two sons, Steve Barker of Batavia and Quintin Barker of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Barker and Duane Barker, both of Keosauqua; nieces and nephews. Besides his ex-wife, he was preceded in death by one son, his parents and his stepmother. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. Private burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery.
