Seventh St. in Fairfield, died at 5:20 am Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua as the result of an accident at work Thursday. She was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Keosauqua to John Walter and Letha Cole Scotton and married Donald Barker. Marty attended Keosauqua High School, worked many years at Hotel Manning and at Barker Wire, both in Keosauqua, managed the restaurant at Best Western Motel in Fairfield and worked the past several years at Walmart in Mt. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Melinda Davenport(Ronald)of Keosauqua and Becky Keller of Fairfield; two sons, Steve Barker(Amy)of Batavia and Quintin Barker(Jennifer)of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brett Barker; eight sisters, Lois Starnes, Doris Snell, Mary Bell, Verna Robinson, Norma Ward, Alvastine Canaday, Hope Anderson and Tilla Long; and a brother, Paul Scotton. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua; with Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Cremation will follow the service with private burial of remains in Pittsburg Cemetery. Visitation will open at 2 pm Monday at the funeral home with family present from 5-7 pm.
