Read More	Leon Journal-Reporter February 19, 1994 Obituary Donald Eugene Houck, son of Elmer DeWitt and Margaret Ruth [Jennings] Houck, was born April 10, 1935, in Decatur County, Iowa, and died Jan. 28, 1994, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 58 years. He attended the Van Wert High School in Van Wert, Iowa, and graduated as president of his class. On June 4, 1955, he married Donna Lea Overton in Van Wert. To this union five children were born: Doug, Greg, Russ, Brian and Connie. After their marriage, Donald and Donna moved to Des Moines, Iowa, for ten years. He was transferred to Ft. Dodge, Iowa, for one year and then to Omaha. They have made their home in Omaha 22 years. He was service manage for International Harvester Truck Service Repair in Omaha. His interests were bird watching, reading Louis L'Amour western books, football, basketball, and was a Cornhusker, Green Bay Packers, and Cub fan. He was a good cook. Preceding him in death was his father Elmer Houck, brother Duane Houck, sister-in-law Ruby Overton and brother-in-law Bud Deemer. He is survived by his widow Donna Houck, Omaha; five children Doug Houck and wife Karen, Greg Houck and wife Theresa, Russ Houck and wife Gayla, Brian Houck, and Connie Novacek and husband Dan, all of Omaha; 10 grandchildren; mother Ruth Houck, Osceola, Iowa; mother-in-law Lilly Southerly, Ridgecrest, CA; four sisters; Beverly Johnson and husband Robert, Rogers, AR, Bonita Edwards and husband Shannon, Jr., Des Moines, Barbara Merrick and husband Harry, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Dena Fulton and husband Jim, Osceola: four brothers: Dean Houck and wife Alta, Leon, Iowa, Daryl Houck and wife Emma Lou, Garland, TX, Dennis Houck and wife Betty Jo, Weldon, Iowa, and Dale Houck and wife Rene, Steelville, MO; sister-in-law Pat Deemer, Russell, Iowa; brother-in-law, Charley Overton and wife Pat, Murray, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
