Donald was born September 16, 1926, in Boone, Iowa, to John H. and Pauline A. (Murken) Nell. Donald attended school at St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from Stanhope High School. Donald is survived by his sister, Myra Nell of Ames, Iowa, his sister in law, Marcella Nell of Boone, his 2 nephews, David Nell of Newport News, Virginia and Bruce Nell and his wife, Nanette of Fayetteville, Georgia, his niece, Barbara Nelson of Johnston, Iowa, his 2 great niece's Christy Quirk and her husband, PJ of Durham, North Carolina and Jennifer Burke and her husband, Eli of Athens, Georgia, his great nephew, Bradley Nelson of Johnston, Iowa, his great niece, Abbey Nelson of Seattle, Washington and his great-great nephew, Felix Burke of Athens, Georgia.
