Yerington, 71, of 106 E. 6th St., died Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at the Moline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moline, Ill., following an extended illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mathias Church with the Rev. George Hoening officiating. Pallbearers will be Marie Yerington, Mary DeeRoo, Betty Ryenolds, Maria Harris, Carolyn Newcomb, Joyce Lenghehr and Carol Yerington. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Donald Francis Yerington was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Muscatine to Charles and Gertrude Everett Yerington. He was a lifelong Muscatine resident. He married Donna Martin in 1953 in Muscatine. He was a heavy equipment operator and later was a Correctional Counselor, retiring in 1984. Donald was a decorated veteran of World War II serving with the US Navy. He is survived by eight sons, Mike Harris and Randy Harris, both of Wilton, Richard Yerington of Rock Island,Ill., Dale Yerington, Ernie Yerington and Larry Yerington, all of Muscatine, and Barry Yerington and Dennis Yerington, both of Fruitland, four daughters, Mrs. Earl (Cindy) Baker of Hartville, Mo., Mrs. Dave (Arlene) Newcomb and Mrs. Mike (Dorothy) Fladlien, both of Muscatine, and Iris Rice of Seattle, Wash., his mother Mrs. Charles (Gertrude) Yerington of Muscatine; 16 grandchildren; one great granchild, three brothers, John, Leo and James Yerington, all of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Kathleen) Brockert and Gertrude Yerington, both of Muscatine, and his ex-wife, Donna (Martin) Yerington of Muscatine MUSCATINE JOURNAL MAY 25, 1994
