Description	:	Donald Gene "Pappy" Parrett, 71, of Connersville went to be with the Lord, Friday morning, March 2, 2007 at Fayette Regional in Connersville after a losing his long hard fought battle with cancer. He was a native of Hamilton, OH, born February 29, 1936 the only child of Robert and Mary Tincher Parrett. Read More	Donald Gene "Pappy" Parrett, 71, of Connersville went to be with the Lord, Friday morning, March 2, 2007 at Fayette Regional in Connersville after a losing his long hard fought battle with cancer. He was a native of Hamilton, OH, born February 29, 1936 the only child of Robert and Mary Tincher Parrett. He attended school in College Corner and was a veteran of the US Army honorably discharged in November 1960. Prior to his retirement in 2005, he had been employed at Voland Nursery in Connersville and Clarksburg, Design and Manufacturing in Connersville and Square D in Oxford, OH. He had also worked at Gardenall Tractor, Capital Dry Cleaners in Oxford and Ford Motor Company in Monroe, MI. He was a member of the New Heights Church of Christ, Connersville. He most enjoyed spending time with his loving family, traveling, and reading his Bible. Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Donna Jean Sherwood Parrett, whom he married May 29th, 1952 in Jellico, Tennessee; they renewed their vows in Gatlinburg , Tennessee May 29, 2006; three daughters: Angela R. Fowler and her companion Randy Guire of Connersville; Susie Weesner and her husband Doug of Milton; Lori Higgs and her husband, Carl; grandchildren: Cherish Cornett and her husband Josh, Connersville; Chasity Parrett of Austin, TX; Amanda Holliman and her husband Mark; Brittany Fowler and her companion Nick all of Connersville; Donald Gene Parrett II of Houston, TX; Amber Atwood, Candy Atwood, Kristin Weesner all of Milton, Steven Fowler, Scarlett Higgs, Savannah Higgs all of Connersville; Nikki Weesner, Josh Weesner both of New Castle; Great Grandchildren: Brett Cornett, Alex Cornett, Dalton Harlan, Landon Hicks, Shelby Weesner all of Connersville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four children: twin infants daughters: Linda & Brenda Parrett, Ronald & Donald Parrett, and his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pete Taylor and Brian Powell officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery with military graveside honors. Friends may visit at funeral home from 4 to 8 P.M.
