Description	:	DONALD L. BEVER August 19, 1926-January 8, 2013 Donald L. Bever, 86, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. He was born August 19, 1926 in Pawnee County at Lewiston, NE to Virgil and Laura Bever. He graduated from high school in Lewiston, NE in 1943. Don proudly served his country in WWII and Korea as a 1st Lieutenant in the US ARMY. He returned from KOrea and earned a BS in agriculture from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Bever, 86, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. He was born August 19, 1926 in Pawnee County at Lewiston, NE to Virgil and Laura Bever. He graduated from high school in Lewiston, NE in 1943. Don proudly served his country in WWII and Korea as a 1st Lieutenant in the US ARMY. He returned from KOrea and earned a BS in agriculture from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. His fraternity brothers from the AGR house would remain lifelong friends. On July 6, 1955 he married the love of his life, Maxine Stitt. They raised their family in Burnsville, MN, before relocating to Princeton, IL. After a 36 year career at Mobil Chemical, Don and Maxine retired to Mesa, AZ where they enjoyed time with friends and their mutual love of golf. He was a lifetime member of the East Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210, A.F. & A.M. of Lincoln, NE, a member of the Ancient Scottish Rite of Minneapolis, MN, and he was a ctive in the Osman Shrine Center A.A.O.M.M.S in St. Paul, MN where he was a member of the Oriental Band. Don was a much loved husband and father and his life centered around his family. His warm smile and sense of humor drew people to him wherever he went. He lived his life with integrity, strength, and courage that will continue to be an inspiration to us. Don is survived by his daughter Ann, son Alan, wife Lisa and their children Alexander and John, brother Norman, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013, at the United Methodist Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska with Pastor Alan Gager officiating. Interment was at Lewiston Cemetery, Lewiston, Nebraska. (Pawnee Republican, Jan.17, 2013)
