Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday at Horan & McConaty Mortuary in Denver. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday from Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Denver, the Very Rev. Mr. Giacomini was born March 27, 1929, in Sterling, the son of Lawrence G. and Thelma Mentgen Giacomini. During his Sterling High School career, he was an outstanding athlete, excelling in track and football. He graduated from SHS in 1947, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Colorado in 1951, and his law degree from CU Law School in 1953. Mr. Giacomini served in the U.S. Navy , attaining the rank of lieutenant, and was aboard a destroyer during the Korean War. He completed active U.S. Navy duties in 1957 and joined the law firm of Rothgerber, Appel, Powers & Johnson in Denver the same year and with the firm until 1960 when he served assistant U.S. Attorney in Denver through 1961, then returned to the Denver law firm and was a senior partner at the time of his death. Mr. Giacomini was co-chairman of the Colorado Corporate Code Revision Committee since 1970, trustee of the Denver Bar Associa tion (1987-1989), helped organize Thursday Night Bar Program in the Denver area that provided free legal services to the needy, and was active in the Big Brothers organization Denver, serving on the board of directors for several years. He was also active in the Colorado Bar Association and Denver Bar Association. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and various charitable organizations. His father, the late Lawrence G. Giacomini, practiced law in Sterling for many years, becoming the "dean of Sterling attorneys." Mr. Giacomini was a competitor in many Sterling Country Club Labor Day Invitational Tournaments and served as attorney for The International golf tournament since its inception, working with founder Jack Vickers. Mr. Giacomini is survived by his wife, Patricia Forbes of Denver; a brother, Robert Giacomini, who has law offices in Sterling; two sisters, Helen McKenzie of Sterling and Jane Van Olinda of New York City, N.Y.; six step - children; several nieces and nephews.
