Description	:	Donald Lawrence Sorte, 82, of Great Falls, a retired government employee and Navy veteran, died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 30, at Peace Hospice. Don was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Scobey, where he was raised and educated. Don served in the Navy from 1951-1955. On Oct. 12, 1951, he married Ilo Fay Brenden. He later graduated with highest honors from the University of Montana, earning a master's degree. Don and Ilo raised two daughters which he said was his "greatest accomplishment." Read More	Donald Lawrence Sorte, 82, of Great Falls, a retired government employee and Navy veteran, died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 30, at Peace Hospice. Don was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Scobey, where he was raised and educated. Don served in the Navy from 1951-1955. On Oct. 12, 1951, he married Ilo Fay Brenden. He later graduated with highest honors from the University of Montana, earning a master's degree. Don and Ilo raised two daughters which he said was his "greatest accomplishment." His career started in Montana and South Dakota as a legislative director. The family later moved to Washington state, where Don became the director of the Office of Financial Management and director of government research for the Education Association. He retired from the Washington Marine Transportation Department as deputy secretary. Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years of Great Falls; two daughters and their families; and four grandchildren.
