Description	:	SILVER CREEK—Donald Peter Urkoski, 69, of Silver Creek, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at CHI Health-St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Krakow (rural Genoa) with Reverend William L’Heureux officiating. Burial will follow at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Krakow with military rites by Silver Creek American Legion Post 263 and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Don was born March 20, 1948 to Peter and Berniece (Czarnick) Urkoski in Genoa. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1966. After, he was employed at Sperry New Holland in Grand Island. He then served in the U.S. Air Force. After the Air Force, he worked at Case New Holland for 35+ years. In September 23, 1972, he married Susan Zywiec at St. Peter Catholic Church in Fullerton. They made their home on a farm west of Silver Creek. To this union, they were blessed with three daughters. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle, fishing, and traveling. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Silver Creek; three daughters, Amy (Chad) Renken of Stromsburg, Glenda (Chad) Hammond of Humboldt, SD, and Amanda (Jeff) Berggren of Osceola; six grandchildren, Owen and Alyssa Renken, Patrick and Zoey Hammond, and Madysen and Carter Berggren; and sisters, Florence Dubas of Fullerton, Katherine (Jerry) Zelasny of North Bend, Angie (Tom) Lesiak of Clarks, Carolyn (Ted) Chlopek of Fullerton, and Chris (Charles) Starostka of Silver Creek. He is preceded in death by his parents.
