He was born in Vigo County on November 2, 1930 to Robert and Bonnie (Flemming) Auterson. Auterson, 83, of Terre Haute passed away at 4:35p.m. on Sunday March 30, 2014 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vigo County on November 2, 1930 to Robert and Bonnie (Flemming) Auterson. Donald was retired after 35 years of service at the Terre Haute Wastewater Treatment Plant; He was a very devoted family man. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardner, and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed his retirement, spending summer afternoons on the front porch swing, also known as “his office”. He had a great sense of humor, and loved his family dearly. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Connie; brothers and sisters Emma, Dorothy, Art, Harold, and Norm. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Jeanette (Smith) Auterson; 6 children Donald Auterson, his wife Sandra of Sullivan, IN, Deborah Long, her husband Charles of Terre Haute, IN, Linda Cunningham, her husband Lyle of Greenwood, IN, Diana Sheely of Lafayette, IN, Annetta Boes of Terre Haute, IN, Lisa Turner, and her husband Al of West Terre Haute, IN; brothers Oscar Auterson, his wife Delorous, Marion Auterson, and Gerald Auterson, all of Terre Haute, IN; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Pastor David Lowe will be officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the funeral home from 4:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
